con·tempt

  1. The feeling or attitude of regarding someone or something as inferior, base, or worthless; scorn.
  2. The state of being despised or dishonored; disgrace.
  3. Open disrespect or willful disobedience of the authority of a court of law or legislative body.

IN THE BIBLE:

Leviticus 22:9
” ‘The priests are to keep my requirements so that they do not become guilty and die for treating them with contempt. I am the LORD, who makes them holy.

Numbers 14:11
The LORD said to Moses, “How long will these people treat me with contempt? How long will they refuse to believe in me, in spite of all the miraculous signs I have performed among them?

Numbers 14:23
